U-20 Muratara Cup Soccer Tournament
Football is one of the most popular sports, not only in Indonesia but also on the entire world. Apart from being a sporting event, football also means entertainment for some people. Football itself refers to a game played by two different teams, with eleven players on the field for each team. Each team tries to win and score the goals against the opponent. This game involves the movement of physical, mental, gross motor and fine motor elements. It is built with the strength of a solid team. The movement of all these elements is carried out to keep the ball moving dynamically and crossing the goal line. The ball used in the game is in oval shape, where every movement is carried out by each player using his feet and only the goalkeeper can touch the ball with his hands.
A soccer match indeed give an unforgettable impression and always attract attention of many people, that's why football has become one of the most popular sports in the world with countless fans. And because of its popularity, the regent of Musi Rawas Utara, a small district in a western region of South Sumatera, holds the U-20 Muratara Cup. It is a soccer tournament for Muratara's people under the age of 20 to take part on the competition, which was held through the Muratara District Youth and Sports Services. This tournament attract the interest of many people. As a result, it was attended by all sub-districts in Muratara Regency, such as Ulu Rawas, Nibung, Rawas Ilir, Karang Dapo, Rupit and Karang Jaya sub-districts.
This year's tournament, which has become the annual agenda of the Youth and Sports Agency, was held in Karang Jaya District, as the host for the 2023 U-20 Muratara Cup. This tournament was being held for 5 days, from June 22th to June 26th, 2023. On the first day, the enthusiasm of the public was so high until it forms a sea of people that filled the field, not only people who want to watch, but also those who take the advantage of the crowd to sell their wares, especially foods.
As for the competition, in a day, matches can be held in 2 - 3 group of teams depending on how long the match lasts. The Rupit Sub-District football team finally made sure to win the first place, after defeating the Karang Jaya Sub-district football team on the final day. The trophies and medals were handed over directly by the Regent of Muratara, H. Devi Suhartoni to the winners at the Karang Jaya Village football field. At the same time it is also closing the 2023 U-20 Muratara Regent Cup football tournament. In his remarks, Mr. Suhartoni congratulated the winners and at the same time appreciated the success in organizing this soccer tournament.
