Seblak is a Sundanese's type of food that comes from Parahyangan, West Java, with the unique taste of savory yet spicy. The word Seblak itself comes from an abbreviation for segak or nyegak, which means "sting". This is because seblak taste is characterized by the use of aromatic ginger to make the unique smell and taste. The basic ingredient of Seblak is crackers. The processing method is very easy. You only have to boil the crackers, and seasoned them with shallots, garlic, salt, aromatic ginger, chillies, and other seasonings depending on your taste. You can also add other ingredients you need, such as vegetables, eggs, or sausages.

There are two types of seblak that are well-known among Indonesian people. The first one is Dried Seblak, a spicy cracker that almost similar to Basreng (fried meatballs). The second one that is also become the most popular seblak is Wet Seblak. With the other ingredients that I've told before, you just need to add water as much as you can until you finally get the consistency of broth that you want. Some people are even adding macaroni, chicken claw, chicken bone, noodle, meatball, and many other ingredients.

Up to the many creation you could do with Seblak, recently someone created the latest version of seblak! It is called Rafael's Seblak or Seblak Coet. It was really viral on TikTok for the past few weeks that many food bloggers or even just ordinary people who likes cooking, follow this recipe. It is none otherness without a reason. It is stated that this recipe of Rafael has a distinctive taste of the original seblak, dry but not gravy and purely tasted with aromatic spices. Mostly popular Seblak has been formulated using modern recipes with the adding of many ingredients, so that it has lost its specific taste.

As it is well known, Seblak Coet is only made with two basic spices, namely garlic and aromatic ginger. The two spices are then pulverized with red and green chillies and seasonings. These seasonings are then mixed with white rose crackers that have been boiled before. And it's done! Very simple and easy, right! So, are you interested to try it?
